Our Leadership Team Sets the Standard for Exceptional Care

MorningStar at Mountain Shadows is a loving senior living community nestled at the foot of the Rockies in Colorado Springs.  We are able to provide such exceptional care and create a true “home” for our residents due to a committed, passionate team lead by our leadership team who sets an example for all of us.    

Leading our team is MorningStar at Mountain Shadows’ Executive Director, Suzanne Chapple.  Suzanne explains how MorningStar means LOVE to her and how our atmosphere radiates it from the moment you walk through the door.  She is gratified to see residents and staff alike smiling and feels privileged to know she is making a difference in someone’s life, which is turn makes her life feel more complete.  Suzanne says, “Seniors teach me to slow down, to be in the moment, and to enjoy all those who make such precious moments happen.”

Cheryl Nelson serves as our Wellness Director and agrees with people who say seniors are “The Greatest Generation.”  Bill was the first senior Cheryl ever loved (she met him at age 16 as a CNA) and explains Bill taught her what it means to be a true gentleman.  She reminds us that we can learn a lot from seniors as they have seen so many changes throughout their lifetime.

Another integral part of our team is Courtney Sonnier, our Director of Community Relations.  Courtney notes that seniors have traveled much farther along life’s journey and can teach us a lot about the most important things in life.  This knowledge has helped her to set the right priorities in her own life.  Courtney reflects on how MorningStar’s teamwork is what first attracted her to our community, and she loves the fact there is no “that’s not my job” attitude but rather are a strong supportive group of people to work alongside.
